ISRO RA Recruitment 2023: Government of India, Department of Space, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Satish Dhawan Space Centre Shar has released a notification for the recruitment of Research Associates (RA).
Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota (SDSC SHAR), is the Spaceport of India and one of the Lead Centres of the Indian Space Research Organisation, Dept of Space, Govt. of India. The Centre provides world-class launch base infrastructure to accomplish diverse Launch Vehicle and Satellite missions for Remote Sensing, Communication, Navigation and Scientific research purposes.
Eligibility Criteria:
What are the eligibility criteria for the applications of ISRO –in detail below;
Essential qualification of ME/M. Tech or equivalent degree should be in First class with a minimum of 60% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 Point scale.
Pre-qualification of BE/B.Tech/MSc or equivalent degree should also be in First Class with an aggregate of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA of 6.84 on a 10 Point scale.
Only passed-out candidates are eligible to apply. Candidates awaiting for final result need not to apply.
In case the candidates are awarded Grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of Grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the University from where they have obtained the Degree. The onus of proving the conversion from Grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would rest with the candidate. Candidates must indicate equivalent percentage in relevant column of online application form as per the norms adopted by the University.
Educational Qualification:

PhD in Meteorology /Atmospheric Sciences/ Oceanography/ Physics/ Applied Physics With Meteorology or equivalent subjects as the main subject
ME/M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/Ocean sciences with at least 3 years of research experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal related to Atmospheric/ Oceanic/ Climate Sciences
Age Limit:
What is the age limit for the applications of ISRO –in detail below;
18–35 years as on 25.07.2023 ( closing date for receipt of online applications), upper age relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC(non-creamy layer) candidates.
Age relaxation as per Government of India orders is applicable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) and Ex-Servicemen. SC/ST/OBC/PWBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates should produce relevant Certificate as issued by the competent authorities for availing upper age relaxation.
Salary Amount for ISRO RA Recruitment:
47000/- per month (consolidated payment) and House Rent Allowance as applicable(if they are not provided with hostel accommodation). In addition, the Research Associates are eligible for medical benefits for self and Leave entitlement as per the rules of SDSC SHAR.
The candidates selected will not be entitled to any benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees. The above provisions are liable to change/revise from time to time as per Government policy.
Application Fee:
There will be a non-refundable Application Fee of `250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only) for each application. The fee may be paid online through Debit Card/Internet Banking.
No other mode of payment will be acceptable and the fee will not be refundable under any circumstances. (Candidates making online payment may kindly note that SDSC SHAR shall not be responsible for pending transactions or transaction failures).

Required Documents:

- Recent colour passport size photograph (not older than 6 months) in .jpg format (Size upto 40 KB & dimensions should be 110 x 140 pixels)
- Size upto 20 KB & dimensions should be 200 x 50 pixels)
- SSLC / SSC Certificate- in.pdf format
- Consolidated marks sheet in respect of essential qualification prescribed for the post applied for in PDF format. In case consolidated mark sheet is not issued by State Board/University/Institution, Year/Semester wise mark sheets may be uploaded.
- OBC Certificate
- Disability Certificate for PWBD candidates
- Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen
- While filling up online application, it is advisable to keep the above documents readily available to upload the same
- The documents uploaded will be verified at the time of Interview and shortlisting of candidates to attend Interview will not bestow eligibility.
NOTE –
The Photograph uploaded should be very clear to identify the candidate. Similarly, signature uploaded should be clear and legible. Failure to meet these requirements in the online application will lead to cancellation of candidature.

Selection Procedure:

The Qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make the candidate eligible to be called for interview. There will be an initial screening based on the academic performance and other parameters given in the online application and only those who are screened-in will be called for interview. Selection will be made based on performance in the interview.
Candidates will have to produce proof of the details furnished in their applications submitted on-line as and when called for.
Travelling Allowance:
Outstation candidates called for Interview will be paid to and fro sleeper class Railway Fare or nonAC bus fare, whichever is less; by the shortest route from the address given in the web application to the place of Interview, on production of Railway/Bus Ticket or print-out of e-tickets.
