Aadhaar card-pan card link: Linking Aadhaar number with the PAN card has become the most talked about the issue at the administrative level in India at the moment. For this, the central government has announced 31 March 2023 as the deadline. In other words, all Indians will have to link their Aadhaar number with their PAN card.
Aadhaar card-pan card link will work even if all these people do not!
In this regard, the Income Tax Department under the Union Finance Ministry has issued a notification saying that if the Aadhaar number is not linked with the PAN card as per the Income Tax Act, 1961, the PAN card of the concerned person will become inactive after March 31.
Crores of Indians have started to suffer from the fear of this position of the central government. Many people have completed the PAN-Aadhaar linking process but still many people have not been able to link their Aadhaar number with PAN card.
Especially at the moment, many people are unable to do this due to financial reasons as this link process is being carried out with a fine of 1000 rupees. But the income tax department has announced in another notification that to reactivate the PAN card which has been deactivated after March 31, a penalty of Tk 10,000 has to be paid.
Aadhaar-PAN link will work for all those people
All in all, discussions, apprehensions, and worries around the PAN-Aadhaar link are increasing. But in the meantime, there is good news for millions of Indians. Because when billions of Indians are running around with PAN-Aadhaar link, it is known that many people belonging to the special categories will not face any problems even if they do not link PAN-Aadhaar. Their PAN card will remain active as before. As a result, they do not have to face any problems in getting central grants or doing bank transactions.
Who will have problems even if the PAN card-Aadhaar card is not linked, let’s know-
According to the special rules of the Union Ministry of Finance-
- PAN-Aadhaar link is not mandatory for residents of Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu, and Kashmir.
- PAN of NRIs will continue even if Aadhaar is not linked.
- Foreign nationals residing in India need not link their PAN Aadhaar.
- Linking of the Aadhaar number with a PAN card is not required if the age is 80 years or above.
Crores of Indians will fall under the above-mentioned category. They don’t have to go through the trouble of linking their Aadhaar number with their PAN card by March 31. But one can link an Aadhaar number with a PAN card.
