While many students in urban areas have Aadhaar cards,
students in rural schools do not. Therefore, in order to generate Aadhaar cards for rural students quickly, it is planned to provide an Aadhaar card generation service in schools. A part of the administration thinks that once the Aadhaar card is created, it will be convenient for students to get government services.
Hence Aadhaar card-making camp will be launched in selected schools in the next few months. According to the administration sources, for now, two schools in each block will be making Aadhaar cards. Aadhaar card generation facility will be provided in some schools of the block, the information will also be communicated to other schools in the block.
Arrangements will be made to generate Aadhaar cards for students in such areas. But at first, not all students will get this opportunity. It is said that the students of the level who will get the financial grant directly from the government in the bank account will get priority in this regard.
Students of classes IX to XII will get this opportunity in the first phase. Later, step by step, the rest of the students will get this opportunity. According to sources, parents may be asked to play a special role in creating Aadhaar cards for very young students.
These camps will be conducted in accordance with the directives of the Unique Identification Authority of India. According to sources, the state government wants to provide this service free of cost to all students. The Education Department will issue a notification in the next few weeks to inform the schools about making Aadhaar cards in schools. Apart from the schools, it has been reported that Aadhaar card generation and correction work will also be done at the Bengal support center set up by the West Bengal government.
