UPSC JE Recruitment 2023: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of a Junior Engineer (Civil). There is a total of 58 vacancies (UR-26, EWS-5, OBC-13, SC-10, ST-4, PwBD-3).
Age Limit:
What is the age limit for the applications of UPSC Junior Engineer –in detail below;
Not exceeding 30 years as on the normal closing date. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward category candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them.
And, not exceeding 35 years for SC and ST candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them.
Relaxable for regularly appointed Employees’ State Insurance Corporation and Central/U.T. Government Servants up to 5 years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Educational Qualification:

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
Note 1- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Duty(ies) of Junior Engineer:
Preparation/ Planning/ Checking of Preliminary/ detailed estimates for works of construction/ maintenance of buildings, Externals services and reconciliation, Preparation/ checking/verification of Bills, Valuation reposts of buildings, Remedial measures, Preparation/examining NIT, Examining reports of Arbitration/CTE, Statutory authority etc. cases, Maintaining of records of Assets of ESIC, details of latest fittings cables schedule, preparation of SLD, layout sketches also as calculation of cable routes, locations of D.Bs., Switch boards etc., efficient running of E/M installations, maintenance of logsheet, Any other job as assigned by higher officer.
Probation –
Two years
Note- Mandatory induction training as prescribed and sponsored by Employees’ State Insurance Corporation as part of Successful completion of probation.
