Bana Sahayak Recruitment 2023: On the order of the Calcutta High Court, the State Forest Department has again published the notification for 2000 posts of Forest Assistants. A notification to this effect was issued on Friday itself. A detailed notification has been published on the website of the forest department.

On May 3, the High Court ordered that a new interview should be conducted in accordance with the rules within the next two months in the case of irregularities in the posts of forest assistants. That list should be published on the website.

However, there is no clear order to cancel the job. As directed by the court, after the new recruitment as per the rules, those who will be placed on the eligible list will have the job. The rest may be terminated.

It is said in the notification of this day,

‘Want to appoint qualified persons as forest assistants in each district on a temporary basis from among the permanent residents of West Bengal. The application should be sent within 7 working days from the date of publication of the notification.

The interview for the post of Forest Assistant is held in September-October 2020. There were two thousand vacancies. The monthly allowance for appointments on a contract basis is Rs 10 thousand. Assistants will basically do forest protection work like forest guards. Several lakhs of applications were submitted.

Mainly, many workers are required to protect the various forest areas of the state and the wildlife there. But, the recruitment process in the forest department was closed for a long time. It was felt that the forest assistants would help a lot in that work. However, there are complaints that this appointment is being done illegally to give benefits to some people.
