Railway Technical Associate Recruitment 2023: SOUTHERN RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION ORGANIZATION, has released a notification for the engagement of Senior Technical Associate (STA) from open market for construction projects in the jurisdiction of southern railway (SR)/ Construction Organization o Contract Basis. The total number of posts is 15.
ONLINE applications are invited from interested candidates for engagement of SENIOR TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE (STA) on Contract basis from Open market in Civil Engineering Department in Southern Railway, Construction Organization, Chennai. Applications complete in all respects should be submitted only through “ONLINE” till 24.00 hrs of the closing date, i.e. 30.06.2023.
Educational Qualification for Railway Technical Associate Recruitment:

The minimum qualification is 4 years Bachelor’s degree in (a) Civil Engineering (OR) (b) A combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
A valid GATE score in the last 3yrs (2021 to 2023)
Age Limit:
What is the age limit for the applications of Southern Railway –in detail below;
Senior Technical Associate: 20 to 33 years
The lower and upper age limit will be reckoned as on last date of notification for Contractual Engagements. The upper age limit is relaxable as under, subject to submission of requisite certificate. For OBC candidates: 03 yrs & For SC/ST candidates: 05 yrs.
Screening and Shortlisting of Candidates:
Senior Technical Associate: Candidate will be shortlisted and called for screening and verification of original documents and on the basis of ‘GATE score’ obtained in any one of the GATE examinations conducted in preceding 03 years (i.e. between the years 2021 and 2023) in the ratio 1:1 to the number of vacancies in Senior Technical Associate category (specific time period after which actual score is taken).
The minimum qualifying marks to be obtained by the candidates in the prescribed educational qualification in the case of Senior Technical Associate to be considered for selection is
- General Candidates : 60%
- OBC – Non-creamy layer : 55%
- SC/ST Candidates : 50%
In the case of same GATE score obtained by the candidates, the percentage of marks obtained in the academic education in UG will be taken. Further if there is a tie, the senior-most by date of birth will be considered.

Salary Amount for Railway Technical Associate Recruitment:
What is the remuneration/ Salary amount for the recruitment of Southern Railway –in detail below;
- ‘Z’ Class – 32,000/- Per Month
- ‘Y’ Class – 34,000/- Per Month
- ‘X’ Class –37,000/- Per Month

TRAINING:
The candidates engaged on contract basis, will be given training for a prescribed period regarding orientation in rules, regulations and practices related to safety, technical and other areas before they are deputed on work. Period and content of such training/orientation shall be determined by Chief Administrative Officer/Construction/ Chennai but will not be less than ten working days.
