SSC GD Constable Syllabus: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC GD Constable exam every year to recruit candidates for the post of General Duty Constable in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The exam is held in two stages: Computer Based Test (CBT) and Physical Standards Test (PST)/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Candidates applying for GD Constable must be a citizen of India

Age Limit

  • Maximum age for GD Constable: 23 years
  • Minimum age for GD Constable: 18 years

Educational Qualification

Must have passed 10 OR equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University

Note: However, candidates belonging to the reserved categories have been given some age relaxation in the upper age limit.

The CBT consists of four sections:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 questions)
  • General Knowledge and General Awareness (50 questions)
  • Elementary Mathematics (50 questions)
  • English/Hindi Language (50 questions)

SSC GD Constable Syllabus 2024:

The detailed syllabus for the SSC GD Constable 2024 exam is given below:

General Intelligence and Reasoning:

  • Verbal Reasoning: Analogy, classification, coding-decoding, direction sense, word association, verbal analogies, etc.
  • Non-verbal Reasoning: Figural classification, pattern perception, spatial visualization, etc.

General Knowledge and General Awareness:

  • Current Affairs: National and international current events
  • History: Indian history, world history, important dates and events
  • Geography: Physical geography, human geography, India and the world
  • Political Science: Indian constitution, government system, etc.
  • Economics: Indian economy, basic economic concepts, etc.
  • Culture: Indian culture, world culture, important festivals and events
  • Sports: Important sports tournaments, players, etc.
  • Games: Important games and tournaments
  • Environment: Environmental issues, important organizations, etc.
  • India and its Neighboring Countries: Important facts about India and its neighboring countries
  • General Polity: Indian constitution, government system, etc.
  • Indian Constitution: Important articles of the Indian constitution, fundamental rights, duties, etc.
  • Scientific Research: Important scientific inventions and discoveries

Elementary Mathematics:

  • Number Systems: Natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, real numbers, complex numbers
  • Computation of Whole Numbers: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, HCF, LCM, etc.
  • Decimals and Fractions: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversion between decimals and fractions, etc.
  • Relationship between Numbers: Ratio, proportion, percentage, etc.
  • Fundamental Arithmetical Operations: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.
  • Percentages: Calculation of percentages, conversion between percentages, fractions, decimals, etc.
  • Ratios and Proportions: Simple and compound ratios, proportion, variation, etc.
  • Averages: Arithmetic mean, median, mode, weighted average, etc.
  • Interest: Simple interest, compound interest
  • Profit and Loss: Calculation of profit and loss, percentage of profit and loss, etc.
  • Discount: Calculation of discount, trade discount, cash discount, etc.
  • Mensuration: Area, perimeter, and volume of geometrical shapes

SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2024:

The SSC GD Constable CBT will be 100 marks and will be conducted for a duration of 90 minutes. There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.
