SSC JE Recruitment 2023: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of a Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical).
Staff Selection Commission will hold an open competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) for Organizations/Offices of the Government of India.
The name of the Organizations are –
- Border Roads Organization (BRO)
- Central Public Works Department (CPWD)
- Central Water Commission
- Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (Brahmaputra Board)
- Farakka Barrage Project (FBP)
- Military Engineer Services (MES)
- Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works)
- National Technical Research Organization (NTRO)
Essential Educational Qualification:
What is the educational qualification for the applications of SSC JE –in detail below;
Border Roads Organization (BRO) –
Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute; or (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute/Board; and (b) Two years working experience in Planning/Execution/Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute; or (a) Three years Diploma in Electrical/Automobile/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute/ Board; and (b) Two years’ experience in Planning/Execution/ Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.
Central Public Works Department (CPWD) –
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
- Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
Central Water Commission –
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
- Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (Brahmaputra Board) –
- Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Farakka Barrage Project (FBP) –
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute or Board.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University or Institute or Board.
Military Engineer Services (MES) –
- Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University; or (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and (b) Two years’ experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University; or (a) Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and (b) Two years’ experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Works
- Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works) –
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution.

National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) –
- Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.

Salary Amount for SSC JE Recruitment:
What is the salary amount for the applications of SSC JE -in detail below;
The posts are of Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial in Level6 (Rs 35400-112400/-) of pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission.
Application Fee:
Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only).
Fees can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit card.

Selection Procedure:
What is the selection procedure for the applications of SSC JE –in detail below;
Based on the normalized marks scored in the (Paper-I) i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Paper-II. The Commission shall have the discretion to normalize the marks of Paper-II, if Paper-II is conducted in multiple shifts and fix different cut-off marks in each part of Paper-I and also in Paper-II taking into consideration among others, category-wise vacancies and categorywise number of candidates.
The final selection and allocation of Organization/Office will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I and Paper-II and the preference of Organization/Office exercised by them.
